Blessed Aid is a Non-Governmental humanitarian and development organization established in Goma, North Kivu province, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Blessed Aid was founded on 15 July 2002. On 15 July 2016, Blessed Aid Board of Directors members met in an Extraordinary General Assembly and decided to reform the governance structure and to revise the status creating their organization. The initiative for founding Blessed Aid came from Mr. Josselin Bandu Mikindo, who was subsequently supported by six other people who were conferred the status of co-founding members.
Blessed Aid was founded in accordance of the law N/Ref.002/2001 issued on 20 July 2001 laying down general provisions applicable to non-profit organizations in Democratic Republic of Congo. Blessed Aid has got other official documents allowing it to operate in Democratic Republic of Congo. Those official documents are:
- Operational Authorization Number 01/090/CAB/GP-NK/2017 issued in Goma on 29 May 2017 by the Governor of North Kivu province,
- Registration certificate Number 39/JUS.DH/RC/DP-NK/2006 issued in Goma on 8 May 2006 by the Division of Justice in North Kivu province,
- Certificate of registration Number 08/DIVAS/N-K/AS/108/2014 issued in Goma on 15 August 2014 by the Division of Social affairs in North Kivu province,
- Accreditation Act of the provincial division of Youth Number DPJ/N-K/BFRJ/107/2005 issued in Goma on 22 April 2005.
Blessed Aid is in the process of getting the Consultative statutes with ECOSOC and is a member of different platforms such as African Child Policy Forum (ACPF) based in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia and the Association for the United Nations in Democratic Republic of Congo (ANU-DRC,etc…
