Blessed Aid works hard to support the DRC government in assessing and analyzing needs for contextualizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to protection and advocacy. Advocacy for fundraising and local capacity building for better results for children, young girls, and women.

Key Focus Areas:
  • Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA)
  • Reduce gender-based violence, including sexual violence and child marriage
  • Promote the rights of women and girls and gender equality
  • Improve the sexual health of young people and girls
  • Help vulnerable populations access reproductive health services

  • Prevention and dissemination of texts relating to child protection
  • Access to justice
  • Psychosocial support
  • Research and advocacy
  • Child DDRR (Disarmament, Demobilization, Reintegration and Repatriation)

Empowerment

Empowerment

Blessed Aid is fully aware that empowering vulnerable people is a long process aimed at helping individuals and communities make informed decisions and properly improve their lives. This involves providing resources to help them take action and become catalysts for positive change.

Direct beneficiaries:
  • Children and youth from vulnerable communities
  • Women and girls, especially those who are victims of conflict-related sexual violence
  • Elderly people and others living with HIV/AIDS
  • People with disabilities and others directly affected by conflicts and disasters

Education

The already fragile education system has suffered significant deterioration over the past two decades of the DRC crisis, resulting in a loss of access to education and limiting children's learning and personal development opportunities.

Main areas:
  • Preschool education: Develop and improve all aspects of early childhood protection and education
  • Primary and secondary: Contribute to improving the quality of education in all its aspects
  • Literacy: A lever for real recovery in the DRC
  • School construction and rehabilitation: This is a process of repairing, modifying, or adding to a school building

Blessed Aid is among the organizations emphasizing the operationalization of the Humanitarian–Peace–Development Nexus approach. This approach ensures that humanitarian staff can focus their efforts on the most acute needs and that development actors can emphasize long-term resilience, promoting peaceful and strong communities.

Primary Health Care

Primary health care is a health care model that aims to improve the health and well-being of people. It is a people-centered approach that focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment.

Main components:
  • Nutrition: Nutrition as a component of primary health care
  • Food security and livelihoods: Our approach is to contribute to improved food availability
  • Water, hygiene, and sanitation: Blessed Aid aims to contribute to the availability of safe drinking water
